Bark is not fraudulent — it is a real lead-generation marketplace. The "scam" perception comes from the asymmetric value proposition: tradespeople pay for leads that often don't convert, and homeowners receive quotes from trades whose costs are inflated to recover those lead fees. Both sides feel they got a worse deal than expected.
Why are Bark quotes so high?
Tradespeople pay £2–£20+ per lead-credit and have to absorb the cost of the leads that don't convert. To stay profitable, that overhead is added back into the quotes that do close. A typical Bark quote for a £500 plumbing job has £40–£80 of lead-cost recovery built in.
Can I get a refund from Bark?
